16th: The High Altar

NarinPortnoo_16

This hole was created in the late fifties to replace the old 2nd par three which was played down to the lake from just right of the current 2nd tee. Louis Walsh was credited at the time with this short but tricky hole, and the view from its tee is truly wonderful.

Par 3 – 110m
Don’t be lulled into a false sense of security by the shortness of this picturesque par three. Missing the green has wrecked many a card, so accuracy is at a premium. On the positive side, it has yielded more holes-in-one than any other hole on the course!
