11th: Roaninish
|
| Roaninish, the island behind Inniskeel means ‘Island of the Seals’ in Gaelic and has the wreck of the Greenhaven submerged off its shore since 1956. Indeed, the ship sat on the island until a storm in the late eighties. The island featured in a BBC feature film in the nineties entitled ’The Secret of Roaninish’.Par 3 – 180m This is a par three which favours a right-to-left tee shot to a well-contoured, kidney-shaped green, guarded by two deep bunkers on the left and one on the front right. A precise tee shot is required to par this hole and a birdie here is a rare bonus. |
