Narin & Portnoo Golf Club

Aberystwyth offers a ‘Narin & Portnoo welcome’ to visitors

One of our members was recently touring in Wales and, deciding to play a few holes at Aberystwyth Golf Club, he was delighted to be asked to join the captain and vice-captain for a few introductory holes to their gem of a golf club. Located on a hill overlooking the picturesque coastal town of Aberystwyth, the course is 101 years in existence. It is a testing par 70 featuring its three par fives all on the back nine and several long holes on the front nine where a par four is a great score. The welcome is akin to that for which our club is famous and, as with Narin and Portnoo, there was plenty of evidence of members working in a voluntary capacity for the good of their club. Definitely a club to recommend for Irish visitors to Wales and one hopes that our Welsh cousins will find their way northwest to the links of Donegal. A club that is home from home for Narin & Portnoo members, where Barry Crawford, vice-captain and Clive Williams, captain will extend a warm Welsh welcome to their picturesque golf club.
